Drip Irrigation
Irrigation systems have made a change for
a greener future.
As many of us would know water usage, particularly in the garden can be quite wasteful at times. Our ever drying climate has made us start thinking about the efficiency of the watering applicators and a means of controlling it.
A drip irrigation system is one of the best watering systems available. The idea originally started out in fruit orchards, where long lines of plants could be watered individually from a single drip line. Today, this technology has been adapted for use in the residential and commercial industries.

The idea is that instead of having sprinklers spraying above the surface over everything, the drip pipes are laid under the mulch layer in parallel lines. It does one of many things, prevents evaporation, prevents run off and provides an even watering over the entire surface while using 60% less water.
You may ask, why water everywhere around each plant, rather than just at the base? The roots of all plants reside in the upper most foot of soil and spread outwards in search for water. If watering is only done at the base of the plant a extensive root system may not be present. This will cause it to be less developed making it more susceptible to drying out in hot weather.
Installing a rain sensor is the second most important water saving device that all systems should be fitted with. This is relatively inexpensive but can save an enormous amount of water. Set and forget, the system will look after itself.

Sustainable Outdoors has been endorsed by the Water Corporation to provide high quality, industry standard irrigation systems. This is a voluntary initiative that we have taken to show our professionalism in the industry.
When we install a system we like to see that our clients get the best advise every time. Being waterwise in the garden need not be a challenge, we recommend the best products for the application including rain or soil moisture sensors, a programmable controller that can meet watering rosters, drip irrigation for gardens and directional matched precipitation sprinklers for lawn areas.
