Frog Ponds

Creating a frog friendly environment around your garden can be extremely rewarding. Frogs need plenty of moisture, shelter and food. This means planting native trees, shrubs and ground cover, using mulch on garden beds and providing rocks, logs, and water.

Frog ponds are an wonderful way to bring frogs into your garden and simply look fantastic. Combined with native plants and sedges as well as a damp environment they provide excellent breeding ground for frogs.

We have designed a fantastic system that can be purchased from us or have us install. The frog pond consists of two areas, the pond part (a permanently wet area) and the swale. The swale is filled with white sand and Zeolite, and catches the over flow from the pond. When planted with native sedges and wetland plants this area will not only filters the water but also creates the perfect habitat for frogs to live and breed.
